Client Policies – Mirimiri & Romiromi Services

1. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee or loss of deposit.

  • No-shows will be charged the full session fee.

  • Late arrivals may shorten your session to avoid impacting other clients. The full session fee will still apply.

2. Refund Policy

  • Refunds are not available for completed sessions, as results vary for each individual.

  • Prepaid sessions, packages, or gift vouchers are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person with prior approval.

  • Refunds may only be considered in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the practitioner.

3. Payment Policy

  • Payment is due at the time of booking or on the day of service, unless otherwise arranged.

  • Accepted payment methods: cash, bank transfer, EFTPOS, or credit card (if available).

  • Deposits may be required to secure certain bookings and are non-refundable if cancelled without sufficient notice.

4. Code of Conduct / Client Responsibilities

  • Clients are expected to treat the practitioner with respect at all times.

  • Any inappropriate behaviour (verbal, physical, or otherwise) will result in the session being terminated immediately and the full fee charged.

  • Clients are responsible for communicating any discomfort during the session so adjustments can be made.

  • Clients agree to disclose relevant medical history, injuries, or conditions prior to treatment.

5. Confidentiality & Privacy Policy

  • All personal information shared by clients is kept strictly confidential.

  • Client records are stored securely and will not be shared with third parties without consent, except where required by law or if there is risk of harm to self or others.

  • Conversations during sessions are private and treated with respect.

6. Health & Safety Policy

  • Please do not attend your appointment if you are feeling unwell with contagious symptoms (e.g. cold, flu, fever, stomach illness).

  • The practitioner reserves the right to refuse or reschedule a session if your health or safety, or that of others, may be at risk.

  • If you become unwell or uncomfortable during the session, please inform the practitioner immediately.

7. Professional Boundaries Policy

  • Mirimiri and Romiromi are traditional Māori healing practices involving safe, respectful touch.

  • These services are not intimate in nature. Any inappropriate behaviour will result in immediate termination of the session and full payment required.

  • Professional boundaries are maintained at all times to ensure a safe and respectful healing environment.

8. Communicable Disease Policy

  • Hygiene is a priority. Clean linen, sanitised surfaces, and proper handwashing are maintained between each client.

  • Clients who present with symptoms of illness may be asked to reschedule.

  • If you have a known communicable condition, please inform the practitioner prior to your appointment.

9. Cultural Respect Policy

  • Mirimiri and Romiromi are traditional Māori healing practices that carry cultural significance.

  • Clients are asked to approach the space and the practitioner with respect for tikanga (customs), wairua (spirit), and the healing process.

  • Any behaviour that disrespects the cultural integrity of the service will not be tolerated.
