Ko Wai Au — The Heart Behind the Healing

Tēnā koe

Tēnā koe, my name is Erena Koopu. I am a Māori healer and a fifth-generation practitioner of Romiromi and Mirimiri, guided by the teachings and wisdom passed down by my tūpuna (ancestors) and elders in Aotearoa (New Zealand). For over 20 years, I have walked this path, honing my gifts and offering these sacred healing practices to both private clients and through ACC in New Zealand.

I am also a proud mother and wife — married to my incredible husband Rawiri, and together we raise our four beautiful children. They are my greatest teachers and the heartbeat behind everything I do. Their wairua inspires and grounds my mahi (work), reminding me always of the importance of connection, whānau and aroha (love).

Now based in Brisbane, Australia, my work continues as a way to uplift, restore and reconnect others — guided always by the deep aroha and mātauranga (knowledge) entrusted to me by my lineage.

This healing practice is more than technique — it is wairua-led, a return to balance through body, mind, spirit and whakapapa (ancestral connection). Through Romiromi, Mirimiri and the framework that underpins my work, I hold space for those who seek healing, renewal and reconnection.

It is my privilege and purpose to share this work here on the lands of the Turrbal and Jagera peoples, paying deep respect and gratitude to the custodians of this country, their elders past, present and emerging.

No matter where you are on your journey — know that this is a safe space for you to return home to yourself.

Nōku te whiwhi (the privilege is mine).
